The Magic of Macy’s…

…the fact that you can buy a beautiful ring for a portfolio shot and take it back; now that is magic! How do you shoot an object the size of a nickle, on end, with a white background and no shadows? Also magic; or at least a good bit of practice. I did this shot for a possible job with a local Arizona jewelry distributor.

"Industrial Massage" at IHPM

IHPM, Institute for Health and Productivity Management, holds a conference twice a year; one in Scottsdale and one in Orlando. I had the privilege of doing some photography for “Industrial Massage”; and they were great to work for. What they do is “serve large corporations by increasing their employee productivity and morale through a unique pain management intervention.” Basically; if the employee feels better, they will work better and be more productive. Take a look at their website if you want to know more!

I left Tucson at at 5:15 in the morning, and although it was early it was a beautiful sunrise with a setting full moon. Scottsdale is about 125 miles from Tucson. Thanks for looking!

CZ Bracelet

I picked up this beautiful bracelet from the store today; and on the way out I was stopped by an undercover security guard. Apparently when you wander around the jewelry department occasionally glancing at the ceiling; they think your stealing. Thanks, as always, for taking a look at my latest work!

Pendant

You don’t notice all the dust, marks and prints that have accumulated on a piece jewelry until you blow it up larger than life size; then they really stand out. It is crucial that you carefully clean each piece, and blow them off before each shot; otherwise you could spend hours touching them up later.

Charter Club Earrings

This shot was quite difficult to capture. One of the challenges with pearls is that they are spherical, and tend reflect everything around them. The other challenge also goes back to them being spherical, in that they want to role all over the place. With a little bit of experimentation, and a lot of patience, quality results can be achieved!

Casio Quartz WR50M

I haven’t done a lot of product a jewelry photography lately, and I forgot how much I love it! Unlike photographing people, a watch has no schedule or agenda; you can work with it until all the elements come together to create that perfect image. There will be more shots in the next couple weeks as I update my portfolio. Don’t hesitate to call if you want more information about the services I offer.

Big Brothers Big Sisters

I created these a while back for an advertising class and never did anything else with them. Big Brothers and Big Sisters is an amazing organization that pairs Bigs (you) with Littles (children that need a positive role-model in life). As with any sort of community service, you always seem to receive more than you give. I encourage you to check them out! Thanks for looking

Hope Boulder

This past Sunday I got the chance to go up to Hope Boulder and take some pictures of their service and leadership. They were a great group of people to meet and to work with. Let me know if you are interested in the church and I will pass some information along. Thanks for looking!
