Arizona Theatre Company Gala 2011
This years Gala marked the 45th aniversarry for the Arizona Theatre Company. The night was filled with drinks, food, a live auction, dancing and a performance by Academy Award nominee Javetta Steele. Although the evening began with some very unusual rain showers for this time of year; it did clear up in time for Dinner.
The light rain didn’t put a damper on everyone’s spirits
Most people huddled together next to the building minus a few brave umbrella holders’
The annual presentation of the Georgy Award. Lew Schorr and Lewis and Roca were named as this year’s recipients.
There is no lack of passion when Javetta Steele is on stage.
It was great to be a part of the Arizona Theatre Company Gala again thin year. Thanks for looking!

Global Day of Prayer: Tucson, Arizona
This was the 10th Annual Global Day or Prayer (GDOP), and the second I have been to in Tucson It was so good to see so many people come together in prayer for out city, nation and world. Although the original plans was to have it on the UofA mall again; I feel the last minute change to the west side of Old Main turned out to be for the better. Thank you to everyone who invested their time to make this come together again (Especially you Mike)! Feel free to check out a few pictures from last years GDOP as well.
Thank you, God Bless

National Day of Prayer, Himmel Park, Tucson
This year for the National Day of Prayer in Tucson we held various smaller meetings around the city as opposed to the typical city-wide gathering. Although it was a smaller group I don’t believe it was any less meaningful. Besides the prayer and worship itself, we had absolutely perfect weather for an evening in the park.

The Gathering in Globe
The “Gathering in Globe” was an Organic Church conference that met in Globe, of all places, this past weekend. The idea of Organic church, at least to me, is to “be” the church wherever you go. Church does not mean a building and does not necessarily have to even meet in one. Below are a selection of pictures from this past weekend in Globe.

Mr. and Mrs. Khan – A Pakistani Wedding Reception
I received a phone call from Mr. Khan on Thursday about their reception on Saturday. I didn’t really know what I was walking into other than it wasn’t your typical Christian American wedding reception. That being said; everything went well and I had a good time. Both Mr. and Mrs. Khan were very hospitable. Thank you and congratulations to the Khan family.

Fleur de Tucson: Birthday Surprise
This past Thursday was my friend Valerie’s birthday. As a surpirse for Valerie, Jason (Mr. Boyfriend) decided to take her on a surprise hot air balloon ride with a couple good friends. This surprise involved waking Valerie up at 5:30am and kidnapping her. I’m not going to lie; it was kind of fun. Mike Fleury of Fleur de Tucson was our amazing balloon pilot. He has over 28 years of experience; and was very knowledgeable about everything we flew over.
Thank you Jason for having me along, thank you Valerie for being born, and thank you Mike for flying. It was an amazing trip!

Can you Hear Their…Silence: Rally for North Korea
One week ago today was a rally to raise awareness of the human rights crisis in North Korea. Many people are completely unaware to what is going on there; go back a year and I would have been like “what crisis?” As many of you know, writing is not my forte. I often let my photographs speak for themsevles and this will be no excetion. I would highly recommend visiting the LINK (Liberty in North Korea) website though to really get a feel for what is going on, and the meaning behind these pictures. The North Korea 101 is a good place to start.

Reach 2009
If you can think back a year to last years Reach Event; you will remember what a success it was! In regards of turnout; the tons of food collected for the Gospel Rescue Mission, and the hundreds who either gave their lives to Christ or rededicated their lives to Christ. As a result of last years Success; Newsboys, along with Global Tribe, decided to come back to Tucson for another Reach event. Thank you to Gospel Rescue Mission for all your help setting up; tearning down, and for feeding all the volunteers. Thank you as well to the countless volunteers and everyone who donated non-perishable food items! You all helped make this year another success!
Bellow are a smattering of my favorite photos from the night. You can see the whole days timeline by going here.
I had the privilege of meeting the guys from Me In Motion (seen above) both before and after they performed. Great group of guys; be sure to check out their website and music.

Men’s Camping
Last weekend just before heading back to Arizona I went up camping with a couple guys I used to attend church with. They were having their men’s weekend while their wives had a weekend of their own. I don’t fit the married category yet; but I do fit the adventurous man category and had a great time. We cooked steaks, ate S’mores, played with sharp objects, climbed mountains, destroyed things, went swimming and worshiped God; you know, man stuff! I did however, being an Arizona boy as of late; skip the swimming in the freezing lake. Enjoy

Global Day of Prayer: Tucson, Arizona
The first Global Day of Prayer was in Cape Town, South Africa in 2001, and since then has only grown exponentially. “The mission of this celebration is to unite the global body of Christ, to seek God for revival, intercede on behalf of our world, and collaborate for the blessing and transformation of our cultures.” (http://gdop-usa.com/) It was really great to see so many come together for this common cause. Thanks for looking!

Desert Christian Class of 2009
The thing I am finding out about graduations is that the less people there are graduating, the more they pack into the graduation. So whether their are 600 graduates, like my graduating class of 2003, or 55 graduates, it still takes just as long. I appreciate smaller graduations though as they are a lot more personal. There is time to share a little about each student and honor them; as apposed to shooting them through an assembly line! Perhaps this says more about me than the graduations themselves; I like life to be a little more intimate.
Congratulations to the class of 2009!

Sabino Canyon Refugee Hike
This past Saturday Second Mile; a local Tucson College ministry, partnered with the Tucson Refugee Ministry to put together a hike for a bunch of refugee kids. We went a little over a mile up Sabino Canyon and stopped by this beautiful pool of water. Although it was a little too cold for my swimming taste, that didn’t stop the kids; or some of the brave volunteers!
On the way out we caught a few raindrops; but nothing to spoil the fun. I want to thank all those who helped put this together; and those that are so consistently faithful in serving the many refugees we have here in Tucson.

Reach Tucson
Reach Tucson; reach Tucson with the Gospel message and the love of Christ
“Reach is a dream of Newsboys, Wes Campbell their longtime manager, and Anthony Walton, founder of Global Tribe and life long friend of the guys. It is a ministry of Global Tribe to provide a framework for friendship evangelism, a tool for local churches to impact their community, all wrapped in a newsboys concert that has at the core a clear Gospel presentation followed by a call for new believers to connect with a local church.” (http://www.globaltribe.com/index2.html)
Tucson was the debut location for the Reach events, and it went so well. More than 14,000 people showed up; and countless lives were changed by the love of Jesus Christ. They say a picture is worth a thousand words; so rather than me trying to convey the scope and impact of this event with words; please take a look at the photographs. Event Slideshow
Special thanks to the Newsboys, Global Tribe, Family Life Radio, CHIC-FIL-A and the many local churches that helped make this event possible, and the success it was!

"Industrial Massage" at IHPM
IHPM, Institute for Health and Productivity Management, holds a conference twice a year; one in Scottsdale and one in Orlando. I had the privilege of doing some photography for “Industrial Massage”; and they were great to work for. What they do is “serve large corporations by increasing their employee productivity and morale through a unique pain management intervention.” Basically; if the employee feels better, they will work better and be more productive. Take a look at their website if you want to know more!

I left Tucson at at 5:15 in the morning, and although it was early it was a beautiful sunrise with a setting full moon. Scottsdale is about 125 miles from Tucson. Thanks for looking!

"Daniel"
Some guys I know from church are in a band, “Reservado”, and I went out to watch them play last week. The lighting was poor, the venue was nothing special; but it was still a good time! Check out their “unofficially-official RESERVADO myspace page” if you want to know more.

Arizona Theatre Company Gala 2008
“Preview a play, dine on delectable cuisine and dance under the stars at the Temple of Music and Art. Join ATC on this spectacular evening with a special performance of Enchanted April.” That was the 2008 Gala and it was a fantastic time. The weather was absolutely perfect. I want to thank everyone who helped put this together as they did a great job, and all those who support our state theater. Thank you for looking; and don’t forget to check out the rest of the evening on the clients page

Prayer for the City
There was a citywide prayer up on ‘A’ Mountain this morning and it was beautiful, both the views and to see all the people that showed up. Their were several speakers from the city as well as from different organizations around town. It was a little warm by the time it got done, but well worth the trip. Thanks for looking!
